A note from the builder

I tried to learn deep learning for two years — courses, textbooks, YouTube. I could talk about neural networks, but I couldn't build one from scratch. What finally worked was forcing myself to implement things daily: write backprop by hand, break models on purpose, derive gradients on paper. Axon is the system I wish had existed.
